 Rick Smith owner of Texas Concrete Solutions is from what used to be a small town outside of Atlanta, Ga. And for many years was an extremely fast growing area, he saw the need for a good contractor for Decorative Concrete Staining, Scoring and Overlays. With 12 years experience of installing, maintaining, repairing, refinishing hardwoods, stone and tile. It seemed natural to take on this new flooring adventure of Decorative Concrete. He was hooked! He likes it because of great products that are very durable and limitless with design, textures and colors. And with only a few products, TCS has the versatility to do an extremely smooth interior to a perfect replication of stone on a driveway or wall. It allowed more of the creative side of him to come out. The original business in Atlanta was Decocrete Services then it closed due to a move to Texas then we have the birth of Texas Concrete Solutions. 

What makes you different than other similar businesses in your community?

One thing that sets us apart from the contractors I know of in our immediate area is experience. We have experience installing overlays for Architects, national construction firms, and designers. We have installed everything from food courts in shopping malls to high rise buildings in Atlanta, to larger community pool decks to high traffic restaurants and retail spaces and schools in Dumas, Texas. We have installed over 250,000 sq. ft. of high quality decorative concrete stains, epoxies and overlay installations. We have worked closely with over 15 manufacturers for jobs that were specified for projects we were chosen for. Actually one of our pool decks is on the cover of Elite Crete's 2009 online product brochure. And photos inside 3 of their new brochures for 2011. Each year we attend approximately 2  training events to keep up with new technology in the industry.

Why did you move to the Texas Panhandle?

My wife is from here originally. I love the small town feel of the area and the nice people. We moved here to be closer to her parents and family and to slow things down a bit from the hustle, bustle cut throat lifestyle of a large city. So with that said that's why I am offering our services primarily to the residential and smaller commercial market in the area. We don't have to sell every job, this helps us to keep up quality and reputation by not having to do the production installs. We have small crews and low overhead. So the ones we do we do right, so there are no issues down the road.
